SHINE CHARATERISTICS INTO THE SUNDEE’s YUKON LINE

SHINE - Most successful breeders believe that after several generations of linebreeding, it is a good practice to “nick” the line with an outcross. Often it gives excellent results to either introduce an outstanding stud dog from a different bloodline. To introduce new “blood” and “reshuffle” the genes. In order for this to work successfully, careful study of the compatibility of a new bloodline and a judicious look at the characteristics of the individual dogs in the new line is a must. When this is done correctly, and an outstanding pup from such a mating is eventually bred back into one of the two bloodlines, it can form the basis for a genetically much stronger strain. This is our objective in breeding Shine into the Sundee’s Yukon Line..

SHINE IS THAT DOG!   

 Pedigrees reveal much of what you need to know about a pup's ancestry, but only if that pedigree has depth. And, that depth has to extend back at least three and preferably four or more generations so that it includes the parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, and, if possible, the great-great-grandparents.

We reviewed dozens of mattings prior to purchasing Shine. We also reviewed the Pedigrees of his sire and dam back beyond four generations. You will see the Blackwater Line for three generations. That’s important because we know what the Blackwater line brings to the gene pool, that being “TACTABILITY AND BIDDABILITY”. Shines sire “Wager” had excellent conformation, his Sire an NAFC who earned his FC title at 4 years of age, early for an FC title, and who sired two National Champions and numerous Field Champions, further back, we see a matching ancestor of both lines FC Wilderness Harley to Go who is one of the top sires of all time.  

In closing we hope breeding Sundee’s Yukon Line & Shine will produce puppies that are as easy to have around the house as they are in the field while maintaining that high drive and desire required by hunters and competitive owners, be free of disease and possess wonderful conformation.
